The EGG hosted the EIT 2024 Summit, marking the launch of the INNOVEIT series under the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This prestigious event showcased the finest technological innovations developed within the EIT community. Numerous influential figures, including political decision-makers, entrepreneurs, and members of the European Parliament, entertained the audience with inspirational speeches.

Highlights included the session entitled “ACCELERATE | Investing in start-ups for a greener, healthier and digital Europe”, which brought together experts to discuss the common challenges faced and mistakes made by entrepreneurs. Caroline Viarouge, CEO of EIT Manufacturing, emphasised the importance of listening and optimising ideas to overcome initial obstacles.

The event also unveiled cutting-edge innovations such as Robotwin, Stilride, and DigiTwinGreen, demonstrating EIT’s commitment to sustainable technologies and digital transformation. Initiatives such as the Deep Tech Talent Initiative (DTTI) and the EIT Higher Education Initiative (EIT HEI) were promoted, with their crucial role in developing technological and entrepreneurial skills underlined. Martin Kern, CEO of the EIT, spoke of the importance of these programmes in helping the talents of tomorrow to blossom.
