The 10th Annual Global Conference on Energy Efficiency!
The IEA Conference took place at The EGG Brussels on 12 &13 June 2025, co-hosted by the IEA Executive Director Dr Fatih Birol and European Commissioner Dan Jørgensen.
This flagship event marked a decisive moment in global climate action, aiming to double the pace of energy efficiency improvements by 2030 following COP28 commitments.
Over 700 participants from more than 90 countries—including ministers, CEOs and industry leaders—gathered to drive actionable strategies.
Day one focused on Ministerial discussions, featuring high‑level roundtables and keynote speeches, including interventions by King Letsie III and EU Vice‑President Ribera.
Private sector voices dominated day two, with a CEO roundtable culminating in the Brussels CEO Four‑Point Action Plan and a letter of commitment signed by 18 major companies.
Sessions explored themes such as financing for efficiency, appliance policy, industrial competitiveness, and affordable energy for all.
The venue’s sustainable credentials were showcased: The EGG implemented energy‑efficient lighting, waste‑reduction measures, and full accessibility.
Brussels South Station’s proximity made access smooth for international delegates.
Simultaneous interpretation in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese ensured inclusive dialogue.
A gala dinner on June 12 provided networking alongside policy sessions and closed‑door meetings. The conference closed with a public‑private partnership day highlighting the critical role of collaboration in energy transitions. A high‑profile outcome statement reaffirmed commitments to energy security, affordability, competitiveness, and social inclusion. New IEA tools and policy toolkits were launched to support member nations in scaling efficiency measures.
As the 2025 edition concluded, attendees set their sights on further progress ahead of the next conference in 2026 .
