On 3 and 4 June 2025, The EGG Brussels had the honour of hosting one of the flagship events of the European health landscape: the HERA Industry Days 2025, organised by the European Commission through the Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (HERA).

Focused on innovation, collaboration, and preparedness, the event brought together over 600 participants including public decision-makers, pharmaceutical industry representatives, researchers, investors, and health agency officials to discuss the strategic challenges of preparing the European Union for future health emergencies.

A Clear Goal: Strengthening Europe’s Health Resilience

Key themes included strategic stockpiling, rapid response to biological threats, and the integration of sustainability into healthcare systems. These topics were explored through interactive panels, real-world case studies, and targeted networking sessions.
Notable speakers included Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hadja Lahbib, who emphasized the importance of European solidarity and international cooperation in public health.

HERA Industry Days: A Platform for the Future

Beyond dialogue, HERA Industry Days 2025 laid the groundwork for concrete initiatives, including the launch of new European partnerships, the announcement of pilot projects in bioproduction, and the spotlight on emerging technologies in diagnostics and vaccines.
